For most vehicles, OME offers various coil springs in different lengths and/or spring rates to account for different engines, equipment, and especially permanent additional weight from aftermarket accessories. In doing so, wire thickness and length are not necessarily the deciding factors. The number of coils, the associated pitch, and the outer diameter are also used to achieve the desired tuning. The material used also plays a major role, especially when compared to the original spring.
To compact and relax the surface, all OME coil springs are shot-peened after winding and then powder-coated.
Since some vehicles have weight differences from right to left, OME springs are only supplied in pairs, with partially different lengths for the right and left sides.
In addition, on many vehicles, it is still possible to compensate for one-sided sagging with "trim packers".
