The REDARC 100A Fuse Kit is designed for easy, neat installation of fuses for dual battery systems.
One of the most common errors reported to REDARC Technical Support regarding the installation of dual battery systems is failure of the fuse or fuse holder. Such a failure can result in the fuse and holder melting, causing the connection to be severed and your backup battery to no longer charge. This situation is generally diagnosed as a blown fuse, but is more likely due to a poor quality fuse holder.
Inferior fuse holders often do not provide adequate contact with the fuse, allowing dust and dirt to get between the contacts. This will result in excessive heat generation due to excessive resistance, which in turn may be enough to melt the fuse and retainer. Even if the fuse doesn't melt, you could lose valuable charge due to heat dissipation.
