ATTENTION: In order to use the hardtops, load box reinforcement brackets (J-braces) must be installed in your vehicle. If the J-braces were not already ordered from your VW dealer, you can order the J-braces from us under the following part numbers:

The hardtops must not be installed without J-braces. Please note: In some cases, these have been installed as standard from 2024 onwards. Please clarify this with the dealer in advance!
The RSI EVO Defender hardtop is made of ferritic stainless steel and is built for extreme on- and off-road use.
From the 7-piece modular stainless steel construction to the double-walled stainless steel wing doors with internal MOLLE inserts for securing your equipment, the SmartCanopy can withstand almost any adventure.
The RSI EVO Defender comes standard with side stainless steel flaps without glass inserts. The front (cabin side) and the
rear flap also do not have glass inserts.

Attention:
All RSI EVO hardtops are delivered as a kit and must be assembled before installation.
Various tools, as well as aids (e.g. superglue & silicone etc.) are required for this. We always recommend having the assembly and installation carried out by a specialist workshop.
The manufacturer does not take any accessories on or in the cargo area into account during development! This includes no original accessories such as tie-down rails, style bars or cargo area protection! This accessories must be removed before installing the hardtop and can no longer be used.
Weather resistance: Since no pickup cargo area is 100% waterproof, this requirement is also not taken into account by RSI in its design. RSI hardtops consist of several elements, where leaks can occur at various connection points. The sliding windows and their seals are also not designed for European weather and temperature conditions.
