The Safari Snorkel SS663HF for the Mitsubishi Triton MR is designed to direct a large amount of the coolest and cleanest air into the stock air filter unit of the 2.4 & 2.2 liter diesel engine. Since the Mitsubishi Triton MR 2.4 & 2.2 liter diesel engine requires huge airflow, Safari decided to develop a snorkel system that raises the air intake to prevent harmful elements from entering the vehicle's air filter.
Massive airflow is just one aspect of the ultimate snorkel design. The Safari Snorkel Air Intake performs two very important tasks. The most obvious is to direct cool, clean air into the snorkel body - but just as important, the Safari air piston acts as a highly efficient water separator to remove rainwater from the incoming airflow - allowing safe engine operation in even the most violent tropical storms guarantee.
