To connect the volt/amp meter you must

"+" to your power source (dash light or ignition)

"-" to ground (negative battery or chassis) and the

middle pin near the "CE" goes to the mass of the object being measured (fridge, light, etc.)

Note that the negative terminal of the item whose current you want to measure must be connected not to the battery, but to the center pin of the meter.
