The REDARC Smart Start® SBI212 is a battery disconnect switch used as a solenoid priority system to protect the starter battery from over-discharge while the auxiliary battery powers non-essential consumers. The SBI212 delivers 12 volts DC with a continuous current rating of 200 A. The battery disconnect switch is designed for extremely heavy-duty use.
Energy-saving technology
It is primarily used in dual-battery systems of commercial vehicles and contains electronic components that prevent the solenoid valve from generating high voltage spikes. It is superior to a diode battery disconnect switch because diode disconnect switches exhibit a voltage drop. It features low standby power consumption, sophisticated fault detection, and an LED operating indicator that warns the user of faults such as overvoltage, voltage drop, and excessive current draw.
The Smart Start SBI battery disconnect switch is a safe method for charging dual battery systems and should be installed together with a fuse kit.
