Description
The BOSS SHACKLE is extremely versatile, easy to use, and lightweight (360 g). Unlike traditional metal shackles, the BOSS SHACKLE helps eliminate hazards and floats on water.
- High molecular weight polyethylene ensures maximum strength-to-weight ratio
- 14,000 kg minimum breaking strength
- Low stretch minimal stretch
- Floats on the water
- Water, UV and abrasion resistant
Important information and safety recommendations
- It is recommended that anyone intending to recover vehicles using a soft shackle (and/or strap/rope) should consider attending a nationally recognized 4WD training course to receive comprehensive advice on the correct selection and use of the shackle.
- Do not use the shackle for lifting or towing
- Make sure the shackle is not damaged and is in usable condition before attempting any recovery techniques.
- Note: The strength and elongation of the shackle are reduced by water saturation.
- If a harness/rope is used, an object such as a recovery dampener, heavy bag or blanket must be placed over the harness/rope to prevent the harness/rope from accidentally recoiling.
- Before attempting to recover the vehicle, the vehicle occupants must:
leave the vehicles; and stand as far away from the vehicles as corresponds to the length of the belt/rope used and;
do not stand in the path of the vehicle carrying out the rescue. - The permissible total mass (GVM) of the vehicles used should be known.
- The minimum breaking strength of the shackle should be 2 to 3 times the permissible total mass of the vehicle for which it is used.
- The shackle must be matched to the permissible total weight of the lighter of the two vehicles used in the rescue.
- This CampBoss BOSS SHACKLE has a minimum breaking load of 14,000 kg.
